Zach’s senior session at the salvage yard was amazing! I am slightly obsessed with this place and wish I could be there all the time! I was super happy when Zach and his mom were up for shooting there! His images turned out awesome! And I think mom had more fun than any of us! LOL Shout out to mom, Jessica, for killing it with the reflector! Thank you Tiffany Lobdell for the referral! Who’s next at this place?
This shoot left me speechless.
So I am probably the last photographer to find a junkyard but I don’t care! I have been searching forever, but I guess not hard enough because this place is so close to my house! You can imagine my excitement! Once I arrived and walked in, it was like I was in Heaven! It was everything I had hoped it would be! Including the staff there! They were awesome and so friendly! So, it was settled…I had to have a style shoot here!
I immediately had the idea of what I wanted to do! I wanted a long flowy dress that would blow in the wind along with edgy hair, makeup and jewelry. I couldn’t find a dress that fit my thought, unless I was looking at spending a few hundred dollars, so I went to the fabric store. I found chiffon in the colors I wanted and made skirts myself! My vision was coming to life!
I called Tiffany, who, you all know by now, is the best hair and makeup artist! I told her about the ideas I had and of course she came up with hair and makeup that was perfect for it! Again, exactly the way I had envisioned it. I couldn’t have been happier about the way it turned out!
Obviously, we had to find a model! Brooke totally fit the part! Being one of my senior spokesmodels, it was so easy to just call her up and she was so excited to help! She knew the edgy look I was going for and came up with outfit number 2. It was perfect! Leather leggings, sky high heels, and the pops of color in the tank and bandeau. This shoot was just getting better and better.
The final touch was jewelry. I knew exactly what I wanted and instead of going from store to store, who better to ask than my mom who makes jewelry!! I bought everything for the necklace and asked her to put her creativeness to work. Once again, she just knew what I wanted because when I saw the finished product, I was blown away. To a tee what I wanted!
The day of the shoot was finally here, hair and makeup done and we headed to the junkyard. We only had an hour before it was closing and let me tell you, I would have taken pictures all day! We were focused and got to work. Through my camera my vision awoke! I couldn’t believe it! Every pose, amazing. My assistants that day were my daughters, Kaycee and Maddie and everything that was needed from them, they gave their all! They had been a part of this shoot when it was just a thought so long ago and they knew as well what to do to make it real.
Then I reviewed my photos.
I was beyond excited and I can finally share them with you! I hope you love them as much as I do! A big thanks to everyone on my team who helped make this shoot so amazing! Tiffany- you are extremely talented and I am so grateful for you! Mom- your jewelry is so beautiful and handmade. What could be better? Brooke- Thank you for being my beautiful model. You brought it to life! I’m so glad you had fun with us! The guys at the junkyard- Much love! I will be a regular! To my girls, thanks for being my biggest fans and my great assistants!
Who will be my next session in the junkyard?
