Austin

I have known Austin since he was in kindergarten. His older sister and Kylee are best friends and Kaycee and him are the same age. So when Tiffani would come over to our house, there were a few times that Austin came over as well. I could add in some pretty funny videos of Kaycee and him dancing to Michael Jackson but I will be nice and not embarrass them! Although, neither one are the embarrassed type!

Anyways, now Austin is a senior and getting ready to graduate and two of his pride and joys are his truck and football. Naturally, adding these into his session brought his personality to the forefront.

It was so awesome that I was his photographer and made it easier for him to be comfortable in front of the camera. However, that wasn’t too hard because Austin has a knack for the spotlight! I was happy to have spent some time with him and his mom to reminisce about when he was little and how proud we are of him and his future!

Before we know it, graduation will be here! Have you booked your senior session yet?

Nyssa

Have I ever told you all how much I love my job?? Seniors like Nyssa put a smile on my face and remind me everyday of the passion I have for what I do! Not only do I love to produce amazing images for my seniors and their parents, I also get to know these amazing young people and how much this generation will make a difference in our future!

Thank goodness the clouds parted ways for her session but it was COLD! There was a definite 20 degree difference in the sun versus the shade. I told Nyssa to keep jumping up and down, running, anything to stay warm! Her feet were numb but only because she was wearing her moms shoes that were a size and a half too small! But hey! Beauty is pain and the heels looked so cute on her!

Her brother was a great assistant for me and learned how to use the reflector perfectly! And this session made it real for mom that in a few short months she will be a high school graduate and will be off to the air force!

This session was beautiful and I am so glad to have met Nyssa and her family!

Nylah

Road trips are always an amazing way to have a memorable senior session! That is exactly what Nylah did! We started at the White tank mountains and ended up in Flagstaff where in a few short months, she will be living! We found a laundry mat during our  trip and thought it would be fun to get creative and get something totally unique added to her shoot!

Nylah’s biggest request was the snow! She needed that to make her session perfect. This winter has been so mild that we were very nervous about making that happen. She was overjoyed when we found patches of it!! It was enough to make her so happy! She was in her own world which made for some adorable shots!

Even though Nylah is one of my senior reps, I had fun spending the day together getting to know her even more! She is the sweetest girl, so excited about moving to Flagstaff and I can already see what an awesome “little” adult she will be! She will have no problem with living in the snow either!

Make sure to click on the photos to enlarge them! She has the most electric blue eyes I have ever seen!!

Parker

First senior shoot of 2018! A success!

For those of you that don’t live in Arizona, we have had the most mild winter so far. I don’t think there has been one day where the temperature has been below 65. The majority of the days have been in the 70’s. Just beautiful weather! Over the weekend, I checked the weather. Every day, sunny and between 65 and 75 degrees. Day of shoot? Raining! Ok so it was supposed to start raining at the time of the session. Seriously? Of all days. Anyways, I love when my clients can be flexible! Parkers mom and I went back and forth on a back up plan. We decided to just move the session to earlier in the day and it totally worked out! The weather was great! The session was awesome!

Parker had liked the junkyard location so we went there. My favorite location! We got some really cool shots and I really love the colors that were brought out in this session! I love my GQ Seniors!

Who’s next?

Kaycee

I’m sure by now everyone knows who my kids are! This one is my senior this year! Fun fact: She does not like taking pictures that much! She was the reason I started photography! I was the typical mom having her first baby and wanting to capture every second of her life! She was like my real life Barbie doll. I would put her in all different outfits and take pictures of her.

You see, my husband and I have his, hers, and ours. Kaycee and I met Kylee when she was 6 and at that time Kaycee was 2. That was in 2002. Then, Clint and I were married in 2003 and had Maddie in 2004. From then on, I had 3 gorgeous models that I could photograph any time I wanted! If I was searching for a new location, I would tell them to dress up and we would have a photo shoot! (that would actually be a fun post to share! The girls would probably kill me!)

Anyways, Kaycee is the one that will give me 30 minutes and then be done. But she is also a huge supporter of my photography! So of course, it’s not just one senior session. I have to split them up into 30 minute sessions! LOL This being the first. Her boyfriend was in this shoot which will be a later post!

Ok, I am rambling! Kaycee is one of the strongest kids I have ever known. She has a deep routed passion for Christ and centers her life around Him. She knows that He has huge plans for her and is so ready for the next adventure, NAU! She will be moving to Flagstaff in the fall and I am so proud of her. She is definitely the type of girl that really doesn’t know how beautiful she is!

Ariana

I have SO much to say about this session! The first blog post of 2018 to visually show the creative high I am on! Ariana’s mom and I went to high school together and boy has senior photos come a long way since our day! By the way, we are not that old either!  Wicker chairs do not describe personalities very well! Todays senior portrait sessions are meant to show off the true character of the senior and their qualities and aspirations.

I think this shoot did just that for Ariana! Her session was the first time I had met her although we chatted through text leading up to the day. She was a bit nervous because she felt as though she was not the photogenic type. She explained to me what she was looking for in her session and we talked about what she was passionate about. She is a beautiful singer! I told her that was something we needed to incorporate because it makes her who she is. She agreed!

We decided on downtown Phoenix and leaned towards a more artistic vibe, another part of Ariana’s persona. I love starting at one area and just wondering around finding new little places that would fit the feel. We totally lucked out! As we were walking, Ariana spotted a record store. Of course, the outside had some awesome art on the walls. Then we decided to go inside and grab a couple shots. I am so glad we did. They are some of my favorites!

The styles Ariana chose were true to who she is, however, she went a step further with her accessories which tied the whole session together. She also had her hair color corrected prior to her shoot which made her so much happier coming into her session. Check out https://www.instagram.com/vividhaircreations/ to see her transformation!

Ariana left her senior photo shoot feeling so confident in her portraits. She was comfortable and relaxed and by mid session she was a pro at posing! I don’t think she will ever say again that she is not photogenic!

She is a beautiful young lady with an amazing spirit! She is active in her community with helping others and being a blessing to those around her. She is very excited about the next chapter in her life and I am thrilled to continue to be her photographer in the coming years!

Happy New Year!!!

2018! WOW! Happy New Year everyone!! And welcome to the Re-Grand Opening of Tammy Zelez Photography! Packed with new website, logo, creativity, style and branding! I am so glad you are here! Join me on my adventure!

I have branded myself as a senior photographer for many years and I have loved every moment and every senior that has come my way. I wanted to branch out into more of a portrait photographer to continue to grow with my clients! Seniors that I have photographed in the past  have called me to capture their couples sessions, or their weddings and it has made me so thrilled! I have also had businesses that I partner with request past seniors of mine to be models for them such as custom wedding gowns and vivid hair creations.  So I thought, why not extend my photography to enhance those sessions. So here I am in my adventure to show more of what I can do!

Moving forward into 2018, my goal is to show more of a creative side of me that I feel I have held back. Not because I am afraid but more of not taking the time to reinvent myself. So often I feel rushed from everyday life. Being a mom and a wife are my first priorities and I have to remind myself that I need time too. Photography is my passion! I never want it to feel like a job. I want to know each of my clients on a personal level so that when their final product is delivered, they see the magnitude of their true character shine through!

I don’t want to be a one time photographer! I pride myself on repeat clients! I have families that I have watched grow up through the years and it is an incredible feeling of sheer gratitude when I get the call each year!

I have always loved editorial photography. When a senior or a couple want to incorporate their passion or an era into their sessions, that is when my creativity flourishes! My goal in 2018 is to bring more of that to my portrait sessions. I think it really tells a story of the client that again brings life to each image.

Lastly, I love to write! I may not be great at it but it’s exciting and challenging! It is another opportunity to express myself and add more depth to who I am as a photographer and person for future clients.

I appreciate all of my fans for the support you have given me over the years and continue to give me everyday! I can’t wait to take you on this adventure with me! 2018 is a big year for me and my family with many milestones in the coming months! I want to share them all with you because  each of those significant events will define the broadening of my portrait photography!

My hope for you all is pure happiness, joy and love for 2018!

Madison

Madison-101Madison-100Madison-102Madison-30Madison-104Madison-105Madison is one of my senior reps and she is an absolute doll! She put a lot of thought into her senior session. Her mom and her took a day in search of locations to really fit her personality and did just that! We headed to downtown Phoenix with our chauffer, AKA her dad, to all the different areas that she liked! The session was perfect!

I loved that Madison wanted to incorporate her hometown of Manitoba, Canada. She also added a vintage feel with her Grandfathers’ suitcase and the dress she bought while in Canada over the summer. Her senior session showed her personality through and through with everything from her props, style and her beautiful smile!

Senior portraits are more than just photographs to look back on for years to come. It is a chance to show the true character of the senior and reflect on the high school years that have made them who they are today! As parents we have these photos that will always remind us of how proud we are of the amazing children we were gifted to raise!

Kameron

Kameron-1Kameron-3Kameron-4Kameron-5Kameron-6Kameron-7Kameron-8Kameron wanted a feeling of home in her senior photos. She is from Nebraska so heading up north was the closest place to get that for her. We got changing leaves, open fields, and brisk air bringing home a little closer.

Kameron is super funny and if I would’ve posted her more humorous photos, she would’ve probably killed me! Her personality definitely set the tone for the session. She was relaxed and having fun! We took the trail stopping along the way when we found different ideas! We found some great little spots which made for some stunning images.

Grand Canyon University is where she plans on attending next fall. I wish her the best of luck! Maybe for her college graduation photos I can capture the “tap dance”! Congratulations Kameron!! Enjoy this sneak peek!

Brea

Brea -1Brea -2Brea -3Brea -4Brea -5Brea -7Speechless when it comes to this girl!! Eyebrows on point! Hair on point! Outfits on point! Senior session on point! Oh and location, on point!! Was there anything not on point? NOPE! Great session in beautiful Sedona.

I loved what she was looking for. She wanted some downtown, some by the creek and of course with the red rock and we were minutes from each area. I truly love flexible spots because it gives so much versatility to the session. Locations like these give the senior plenty of options to where they are not stuck with one specific backdrop and 3 different outfits! This session did all of that!

Brea is another one of my senior reps and I just love her! So sweet and beautiful! I can’t wait for her to see her finished product!

Make sure to book now to save your spot! Perfect weather is finally here!!
